The Echo of a Noise
Satirist, Performer, Authour and Social Activist Pieter-Dirk Uys discusses his new
autobiographical one-man memoir, The Echo of a Noise, which opened at Theatre on
the Bay in May. The Echo of a Noise sees Uys, who just turned 70, lead the audience
into his inner sanctuary, opening up about his public and private life. He shares
the suicide of his German mother, Helga, as well as the influences on him of his
Afrikaans and German grandmothers.
